Additional Info:
Driving Conduct & On-Track Incidents:
Racing incidents can occur. If a driver causes another vehicle to be knocked off the track, temporarily disabled, or to lose its body as a direct result of contact, the at-fault driver must immediately pause and wait until the affected vehicle has been safely recovered and returned to the racing surface.
This pause is intended to neutralize any advantage gained through contact, slow the field when incidents occur, and encourage controlled, respectful driving.
Repeated, avoidable, or intentional contact may result in additional penalties at the discretion of race management.
Marshalling
Marshalling is a shared responsibility and helps races run smoothly and on time. It is also an important part of community engagement, where everyone’s participation contributes to a better experience for all racers.
If you are between rounds and need to work on or repair your vehicle, you may remain in the pit area. Once your vehicle is ready and you are available, please assist with marshalling as needed.
Electronics & Motor Modifications:
The intent of this section is to promote reliability, accessibility, and consistent performance by limiting internal modifications to motors and electronic components.
Motors must be used as manufactured and may not be modified.
Electronic speed controllers and receivers must be used as manufactured. Board-level modifications, including but not limited to FET upgrades, component replacement, or circuit alteration, are not permitted.
Normal setup, calibration, and software configuration options provided by the manufacturer are permitted.
Body Modifications
Bodies may be modified for function, provided changes have minimal impact on external appearance. These rules allow practical clearance and durability adjustments while preserving scale appearance and realism.
Permitted body modifications include the following:
Wheel wells may be trimmed or chamfered internally for tire clearance.
Lower portions of the body may be cut for ground clearance at the front, sides, or rear, provided no sharp or jagged edges remain.
Body material may be lightly thinned internally for weight reduction.
Body panels may be reinforced internally, provided the external appearance is unchanged.
Windshields and windows must be installed but may be modified by trimming unexposed internal areas.
Taillights and taillight covers may be removed but encouraged for scale realism.
Small body details such as mirrors, canards, and exhausts may be removed.
A body must be installed on the vehicle at all times. If a body is damaged during a round, it may be repaired before the race resumes. Allow sufficient time for adhesives to cure to prevent track damage.
All body modifications must be completed in a manner that does not damage the racing surface.
If you are unsure whether a modified body is legal, submit it for review prior to qualifying or the main event to avoid inadvertent disqualification.
Tires Rules Expanded:
Tire regulations are intended to standardize grip levels, reduce preparation variability, and preserve track conditions. The goal is consistent competition through simple, repeatable tire rules.
The following are not permitted:
Traction compound on tires or on the racing surface.
Homemade tires, or tires constructed from foam, silicone, urethane, or ethyl carbamate.
Tire inserts.
Tires may be cleaned using only water or a 70 percent alcohol solution.
False Start:
A false start is defined by any movement of a vehicle between the time the start is announced and the starting signal.
If one or more vehicles false start, the grid will be re-formed. Repeated violations may result in disqualification from the round.
Rules Disputes:
If there is a rules dispute between drivers, it must be brought to the attention of shop personnel. We will do our best to resolve any issue which may arise.
If a racer notices an illegal item on another racer's car, please report it to us so the car can be tech inspected.
Repeated violations of the above rules may result in race officials pointing at you, quietly muttering among themselves, and discussing appropriate corrective actions, up to and including penalties and or disqualification.
Please follow the rules to ensure fair and enjoyable racing for everyone.
These rules are designed to ensure a fair and enjoyable racing experience for all participants at Silverdale Hobbies. Please review and adhere to these guidelines during the competition. If any adjustments or clarifications are needed, participants are encouraged to speak with John or Michelle.
